While travelling on the Gibb River Road WA I saw a Bog Bag emblem on a passing vehicle and commented to my wife What is a bog bag? A couple of days later we came across the vehicle again this time the owner of the vehicle was camped next to us. We got talking while the bugs were biting and Bernie explained the simple idea of Bog Bags. I thought they sounded like a good idea so the next day I spent the money and brought a set of 12, packed them in the car and continued on our travels. We used them for storage for rubbish, fish and crabs along the way, but their real test was when we were in Derby WA and my fellow traveller thought it would be nice to watch the sunset from out at the mud flats. After watching the beautiful sunset we were heading back to camp and I took a wrong turn in the dark. Too late we were bogged in the mud. This was going to be the test for Bog Bags. We filled them up with mud put them under the wheels and drove out. What a relief. The next day I drove out and picked them up emptied them, gave them a wash and stored them away for the next time. Bog Bags saved us.
